New Applicants

  1. Complete the scholarship application form. You must have a Gmail account to complete this application.  If you do not have a Gmail account, please create one prior to completing the application.  
  2. Attach an original essay no longer than two pages.  The essay topic is: "Tell us the story of who you are and how you plan to make a positive impact on our community and the world."
  3. Attach a copy of your high school transcripts. Ask your counseling secretary for a copy of your transcript or print one out yourself from Infinite Campus.
  4. Include two letters of recommendation from school staff, an employer, or other community member. *TIP* Get a head start and ask people for letters of recommendation NOW and choose someone that knows you well. It is also helpful if you give the person a list of your accomplishments you would like them to speak about in their letter of reference.  
  5. Submit the complete application packet and attachments by 5:00 PM on March 7, 2025.  Late submissions will not be considered.

ELIGIBILTY

To be eligible for the HEF scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be a St. Vrain Valley School District graduate of the current school year 
    Be accepted to an accredited college, university, or vocational school prior to receiving the award

SELECTION

Evaluation of all applicants is based on the following criteria:

  • Personal qualities and strengths
  • Essay
  • Financial need
  • Community and school participation
  • Unique or extenuating circumstances
  • GPA
  • Preference is given to first generation college students
